Just in time for planting season
Calling all gardeners! New to the shop this week, a wood-turned bulb planter, just in time to get those fall bulbs in. It is marked in 1" increments, so you just insert it into the ground to the depth required for the bulb you are planting (usually indicated on the package), plunk in your bulb, and cover it up. No more guess work! Made by Greg of Full Circle Woodworks.

L'immaginaria Exhibit
If you've been to the Rural Creators' Collective, you will have seen some of the amazing work by Lisa of L'immaginaria. (Find her on her own website and on Facebook). And right now, you can see an exhibit of her work at impresario artisan market in Cobourg. Her work will be on display there until September 30th.
See more pictures of the show at Northumberland View.

Equine and Fine Wine Event
Wednesday, September 17, 2014 - An Equine and Fine Wine event for the whole community.
It is really quite simple - come to the Rural Creators' Collective shop about 10:30 a.m.. have a free sample cup of tea from Terra Teas - Organic while you browse the horse-related (and wine-related!) items in the handmade-locally and eco-friendly shop. Then you will be given an equestrian trivia quiz and puzzle to solve. Hand them in. Then go on down the road to M2 stables to see Esther Mortimer, two time Pan-Am games dressage rider (and recent double champ at Palgrave!) and her coach and husband Harper MacKenzie put a few horses through their morning paces. The winner of the RCC quiz will then be announced, and he or she gets their photo taken with Esther and her Pan-Am horse, taken by professional photographer, Yvonne Parsons Photography. Everyone then goes to Cascata Bistro, for a late lunch, where owner and manager Angela Checchia will present the winner with a free bottle of delectable wine, a few other free gifts are given as table favours from the Rural Creators Collective, and there are lovely flowers from Carlisle Flowers. Cascata is offering lunch to everyone at a remarkable 15% off, too! What a fun, educational and contact-building equestrian day to celebrate Carlisle and community...
And here's a sampling of the items you can find at the shop...
Yes, that's a horse themed soap! by Wintermoon Soaps (find them on Facebook)
Pottery by Natalie of Remembrances (on Facebook and AtTheCrossroads on Etsy) with a nod to the equine theme.
Also nodding to the theme...this great painting by Trinity Artists.
And various horse-related items.
Come on out and enjoy the day!
